1. Precautions before laryngoscopy:

1. Carry out a detailed preoperative evaluation.

Since video laryngoscope is an invasive examination, the body of the larynx needs to enter the laryngeal cavity, even the trachea, which may irritate the vocal cords and cause laryngospasm, mucosal damage, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to perform necessary procedures on the patient before the laryngoscopy Preoperative examination and safety assessment, especially for older patients with underlying diseases, such as ECG, blood pressure, heart function, brain function, lung function, etc., to avoid risks during the examination; Necessary inspections for infectious diseases should be carried out for special treatment after surgery to avoid iatrogenic infections.

2. It is best to fast with water for four hours before laryngoscopy.

3. Perform adequate preoperative anesthesia.

Anesthesia is required before the laryngoscopy to prevent the patient from vomiting during the examination. Generally, 1% tetracaine can be used for throat spray anesthesia. Tetracaine is a local anesthetic and has a fast onset, usually one or two minutes. It is effective and can last for one to two hours.

二、 Matters needing attention during laryngoscopy:

The laryngoscopy can be performed from the nasal cavity or the oral cavity. During the examination, the patient should relax and not be nervous, closely cooperate with the doctor, and follow the doctor's instructions. Generally, the examination can be completed in three to five minutes.

三、 Matters needing attention after laryngoscopy:

1. After laryngoscopy, fasting with water for two hours is required to prevent the throat reflex and cough reflex from weakening after the throat is anesthetized, leading to aspiration.
